NEWS!!!!!! YAHOOOO!

Long time since last post. I was really waiting for a good reason to post and here it is! I was notified by my coordinator that I will be traveling to Kazakhstan later this month or early January. What a road this has been! I have been frantically updating documents and with the exception of 2 , I have everything done! It seems that Kazakhstan was going thru some changes in their processing of dossiers / families for adoption etc. got in just under the wire last spring and have been waiting ever since!
So where to go from here.. I am to apply for a visa for a stay in the country, get travel plans in order, and complete documents needed to travel. I don't think I will be traveling prior to Jan 1 One document I need is going to take a few weeks. Definately need some prayers on that one!
So.. going to try to add some things to the blog in the next few days! More later!! I'M really on my way now!!

Great News!!

I found out today that I have been assigned to the Pavlodar region in Kazakhstan! This means that I have essentially been approved by the government to adopt a child! So now...just waiting for my LOI ( Letter of Invitation - to travel). Hopefully this will be in the summertime. Just keep waiting and praying!

Still Waiting!

Am waiting any day now for word on which region that I will be assigned. My dossier has been in Kazakhstan for 2 months now. When folks ask how things are going, I just tell them .."any day now I will hear something!" I know they could contact me and say..."be here in 5 days!"..or they may say "we have a tentative travel time for you in October!"..oh well..we wait and see!

Getting Closer

Things are moving faster now! I submitted my dossier to my agency in late November. It officially went to the Kazakhstan consulate in Washington DC on December 6th. It successfully passed thru the Consulate in mid January. My coordinator sent my dossier to Kaz on January 18th!!
I can't believe that after 2 years, my paperwork is finally being processed in Kazakhstan!
